Thermodynamic Modeling of Phosphorus Recovery from Wastewater

چکیده
Abstract Municipal wastewater is an interesting source of phosphorus and several processes for the recovery from this have been described. These yield magnesium ammonium phosphate (MAP), a valuable fertilizer. In these processes, pH shifts addition chemicals are used to influence species distribution in solution such as finally obtain desired product prevent co-precipitation salts heavy metal ions. Elucidating distributions experimentally challenging cumbersome task. Therefore, present work, thermodynamic model was developed that can be predicting various steps process. The combines extended Debye-Hückel equation prediction activity coefficients with dissociation constants solubility data literature contains no parameters need adjusted process data. successfully tested by comparison experimental Stuttgart analyzing different steps. Assessment of Phosphorus Recovery from Swine Wastewater in Beijing, China
The nutrient management of phosphorus (P) contained in swine wastewater is an important challenge to enhance P use efficiency. In the present study, assessment of P recovery from swine wastewater in Beijing was performed. P amounts of swine wastewater increased from 11,687 tons in 1980 to 16,237 tons in 2014. Without treatment of swine wastewater, P concentration will reach a maximum 1.20 mg/L....
متن کاملPhosphorus Recovery from Wastewater by Struvite Crystallisation: a Review
The present review provides an understanding of principles of struvite crystallisation and examines the techniques and processes experimented to date by researchers at laboratory, pilot and full scale to maximise phosphorus removal and reuse as struvite from wastewater effluents. Struvite is mainly known as a scale deposit causing concerns to wastewater companies. Indeed struvite naturally occu...
متن کاملP-RoC - Phosphorus Recovery from Wastewater by Crystallisation of Calcium Phosphate Compounds
The P-RoC process – the phosphorus recovery straight from the aqueous phase by crystallisation of calcium phosphate – was developed in order to simultaneously remove and recover phosphorus from municipal wasteand industrial process waters by applying calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) compounds or synthesised tobermorite pellets as crystallisation seed materials. At first, the experiments were perf...
متن کاملPhosphorus removal and recovery from wastewater by tobermorite-seeded crystallisation of calcium phosphate.
Investigations were focused on the development of a technology for phosphorus (P) recovery straight from wastewater. Facing the finiteness of the natural resources of this essential nutrient, the declared goal must be the sustainable use of available phosphorus sinks such as wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) for the generation of P rock substitutes. A feasible method for simultaneous eliminati...
متن کاملApplication of Magnesium Modified Corn Biochar for Phosphorus Removal and Recovery from Swine Wastewater
The recycling of lost phosphorus (P) is important in sustainable development. In line with this objective, biochar adsorption is a promising method of P recovery. Therefore, our study investigates the efficiency and selectivity of magnesium modified corn biochar (Mg/biochar) in relation to P adsorption. It also examines the available P derived from postsorption Mg/biochar. Mg/biochar is rich in...
